Orange is the New Black actress Laura Prepon has announced the sudden passing of her brother, Brad Prepon.
The 46-year-old actress revealed that her brother had an unknown heart condition and urged anyone who is feeling off to go get checked out by a doctor.
Laura Prepon shared her brother’s passing on social media
She posted on Instagram, “This past weekend, we laid my brother to rest. He passed away suddenly from an unknown heart condition—it was a devastating shock. For those of you who knew Brad, I’m so happy he touched your lives. For those who didn’t, we lost a singular, beautiful, inimitable force. I will miss my brother every day, and carry him in my heart always.”
She continued, “If you feel something may be off, please listen to your instinct and get it checked out. Hug the ones you love.”
Brad Prepon’s death was also confirmed in an obituary
Brad passed away on July 15, 2026. He was only 48 years old, according to the obituary.
“Brad will be remembered through the qualities that made him uniquely himself. He was a singular, inimitable force, who touched the hearts of many. He will be truly missed,” the obituary read.
