Macklemore is getting support from fellow stars after being removed from Ed Sheeran‘s Loop Tour.

The 43-year-old “Can’t Hold Us” rapper confirmed on Monday (September 14) that he would no longer perform at the remaining U.S. dates after several venues reportedly objected to his continued participation following his pro-Palestine comments at the tour’s MetLife Stadium shows.

Macklemore subsequently shared a lengthy statement addressing the decision, his private conversations with Ed and what he claims happened behind the scenes.

Now, several musicians and public figures are showing their support.

Which Stars Are Supporting Macklemore?

The rapper’s statement has since received support from several stars, including Kehlani, Paloma Faith, MUNA and more. Garbage also issued a lengthy statement of their own defending Macklemore.

Kehlani left one of the most prominent responses to Macklemore‘s statement.

“A LOT of the venues / owners are rallied together this way. honored to know you brother. adore you. behind you!!!!” the 31-year-old singer wrote.

The comment received more than 20,000 likes shortly after it was posted.

Alana Hadid, activist and sister of Bella Hadid, wrote: “Thank you for reframing this Ben it’s so important but I’m so disappointed that they caved to Zionist pressure @macklemore we are proud of you my brother.”

Garbage devoted an entire Instagram post to defending Macklemore after his removal from the tour.

“This is madness. Sheer madness,” the band began their statement. “So @macklemore is being dropped off a major tour because some people felt threatened and ‘scared’ when he stood on stage and pleaded for the protections of an occupied and persecuted people?”

The band called the situation “wildly unjust” and argued that nothing Macklemore said during his performances was “violent or hateful or remotely radical.”

Garbage also defended him against accusations of antisemitism and questioned the consequences he faced for speaking out.

“Whatever happened to free speech?” they asked.

“Those who exile, silence and censor others are never the good guys. No matter what you tell yourself,” the band wrote elsewhere in the statement.

Paloma Faith offered emphatic support in the comments on Macklemore‘s statement.

“You are a rare and important voice … thank you for existing…. This is so articulate and so powerful. You are a hero xxx,” she wrote.

The comment had received more than 20,000 likes shortly after it was posted.
