Jon Bernthal & Ben Affleck's 'The Accountant' Is Climbing Streaming Charts Again — Here's Where to Watch Both Movies in 2026 | Just Jared

Jon Bernthal and Ben Affleck‘s first The Accountant movie is finding another audience nearly 10 years after it opened in theaters.

The 2016 action thriller appeared at No. 8 on FlixPatrol‘s worldwide Apple TV movie chart for September 4, 2026. The renewed interest arrives a little more than a year after Ben and Jon reunited for The Accountant 2, and both movies are currently available to watch at home.

In the original movie, Ben plays Christian Wolff, an autistic forensic accountant who works for criminal organizations and is also highly trained in combat. A legitimate assignment at a robotics company puts him in the middle of a deadly conspiracy.

Jon plays Braxton, a mercenary whose connection to Christian becomes central to the story.

Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Jeffrey Tambor, John Lithgow, and Jean Smart also appear in the film, which was directed by Gavin O’Connor and written by Bill Dubuque.

The first Accountant runs two hours and eight minutes and is rated R. In the United States, it is currently available to rent or purchase through digital retailers including Apple TV. HBO Max carries the movie in some international markets, but streaming libraries vary by country and can change without notice.

The 2025 sequel gives Jon a much larger role. Christian recruits his estranged brother Brax after Treasury official Ray King is murdered, and the pair work with Marybeth Medina to uncover the conspiracy behind his death. The follow-up leans more heavily into the brothers’ clashing personalities alongside the action.

The Accountant 2 is available with a Prime Video subscription in the United States. Amazon reported after its June 2025 streaming debut that the sequel had reached nearly 80 million viewers worldwide.

There could be another reunion ahead. Screenwriter Bill Dubuque said in May 2026 that Amazon MGM remained interested in The Accountant 3.
