Jennifer‘s account is verified, but we still reached out to her team to confirm that this is really her page. We’ll report back if we get a response!

It’s unclear why Jennifer has finally decided to join the app, but she’ll likely use the page to promote her professional projects. While she’s rumored to have a small cameo appearance in the upcoming Hunger Games prequel movie, due in theaters this November, she won’t be seen in a new movie until next year’s What Happens at Night.

What Jennifer Lawrence has previously said about social media

Jennifer said in 2014 that she would never get on social media.

“I will never get Twitter,” she told BBC Radio 1 back then. “I’m not very good on the phone or technology. I cannot really keep up with emails so the idea of Twitter is so unthinkable to me.”

“If you ever see a Facebook, Instagram or Twitter that says it’s me, it most certainly is not … I had [the answer to that question] locked and loaded … Because the internet has scorned me so much,” she said.

Jennifer eventually did get an official Facebook page, run by her team, but it has since been shut down.

In 2018, Jennifer told InStyle that she’s a social media lurker, even though she does not participate.

“I’m on it. But I’m a voyeur: I watch, I don’t speak,” she said. “There is always so much backlash. So many people are listening and paying attention, and they have so many opinions about absolutely everything.”

“Unless I’m promoting something or something really burns my onions, you won’t hear from me,” she added.
