Hip-Hop Producer Tay Keith’s Cause of Death Revealed

More details are coming out following the death of music producer Tay Keith.
If you didn’t see the sad news, it was reported back in June that the Grammy-nominated artist, who was born Brytavious Chambers, was found dead in his Nashville, Tenn. apartment. He was 29-years-old.
Tay was known for working with major stars like Drake and Travis Scott.
Now three months later, TMZ has learned that that Tay died from the toxic effects of drugs, including ketamine and an active ingredient in kratom.

According to the Nashville Medical Examiner’s Office, Tay had ketamine and mitragynine in his system when he died. Mitragynine is a chemical compound found in kratom, which is a tree from Southeast Asia. People who use kratom “report that at low doses, kratom acts as an upper, called a stimulant,” according to The Mayo Clinic. “That means it makes them more alert and gives them more energy. At higher doses, people who use it report that it reduces pain and makes them feel calm and less anxious, also called a sedative.”
It’s unclear if Tay was using kratom – which is a federally legal substance – at the time or if he somehow came in contact with the drug another way.
Tay also had nicotine and ethanol in his system. The medical examine also noted that the hip-hop producer had mild coronary artery disease as well.
