Drake might be putting his own spin on one of the biggest songs of the year!

The 39-year-old “One Dance” rapper seemingly previewed a remix of Ella Langley‘s smash hit “Choosin’ Texas” while appearing at a DJ set in Toronto over the weekend.

In footage from the set that has since gone viral on social media, Drake could be heard singing over a reworked version of the country hit, fueling speculation that an official collaboration could be on the way.

Is Drake Releasing a “Choosin’ Texas” Remix?

Drake‘s version slows down the original song with a more atmospheric, R&B-inspired production while he puts his own spin on its melody. Billboard notes that he declares “it doesn’t take a crystal ball to see” and turns “cowboy” to “cowgirl” on the chorus.

However, fans shouldn’t get too excited just yet: Neither Drake nor Ella has officially announced a remix, and there’s currently no confirmed release date.

The apparent remix comes after Drake attended Ella‘s concert in North Little Rock, Arkansas on August 22, where he was spotted enthusiastically singing along to “Choosin’ Texas.” The two were also photographed together backstage.

Earlier in the month, Drake praised the country star’s songwriting on social media, calling her pen “goated.”

And on August 15, she lip-synced to Drake and Lil Wayne’s 2011 hit “HYFR (Hell Ya F–king Right)” on TikTok.

How Successful Is Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas”?

The potential remix comes as “Choosin’ Texas” reaches a major milestone.

The song has now spent 20 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the longest-running No. 1 song among non-holiday titles in the chart’s history, according to Billboard.

It’s not yet clear whether Drake was simply having fun with his own version of the song or if fans will eventually get an official release. Stay tuned!
