Donald Trump Viciously Attacks CNN's Kaitlan Collins at Correspondents' Dinner, Compares Her to Trans Woman | Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Donald Trump is taking aim at Kaitlan Collins.
During the re-scheduled White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Friday night (July 24), the 80-year-old President made vile remakes about the 34-year-old CNN anchor’s appearance and demeanor.
After Kaitlan was honored with an award for her coverage of Trump’s Oval Office blow-up with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy in February 2025, Trump took to the mic to lobby an attack against the journalist.
“I want to personally congratulate CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on receiving her award,” he began. “It was all about me. It’s a fake– she shouldn’t get the award, it was a fake. But I didn’t mind, I said, ‘Kaitlan, congratulations.’ But it was fake, there’s no question about it.”
He then went on to repeat one of his go-to criticisms of Kaitlan, saying that she never smiles.
“She’s a young, attractive woman. She never smiles,” Trump said. “I said, ‘Kaitlan, do you ever smile? Smile. You have a nice position, you’re at CNN fake news, you should be a happy person. So smile, Kaitlan, just smile.’”
Kaitlan, who was sitting at a table near the stage alongside her CNN colleagues, had her face turned away from the camera as Trump spoke.
Trump then attempted to make a roast-style joke about Kaitlan, comparing her to trans actress/influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
“I thought Kaitlan had really made it big with a major new sponsorship, but then I informed her that it wasn’t her on the Bud Light can, it was Dylan Mulvaney,” he said as the audience remained silent and no one laughed at his remark.

If you forgot, Dylan, now 29, briefly collaborated with Bud Light back in 2023 during March Madness. Following the campaign, the far-right quickly went on the attack and boycotted the beer. The backlash from conservatives over Bud Light’s perceived “wokeness” led to a significant decline in sales for the company, which is still trying to recover three years later.
”Dylan Mulvaney cost Bud Light $35 billion in market cap,” Trump continued. “That was the worst commercial ever made by the way, for those few people who want to hear that. Most people don’t care, but I would. I wouldn’t want to hire Dylan any time soon.”
“Think of it, they hired Dylan Mulvaney and their market cap has gone down by $35 billion. Who wrote that commercial?” he added.
Last month, a fellow CNN news anchor came to Kaitlan‘s defense following remarks Trump made about her.
