David Harbour has booked his next movie role!

On Friday (April 17), it was announced that the 51-year-old Stranger Things and DTF St. Louis actor has joined the cast of the upcoming movie John Rambo, joining previously announced star Noah Centineo.

Keep reading to find out more…In the upcoming Rambo prequel movie, David will be playing Major Trautman, the commanding officer of the titular character played by Noah, 29, according to Deadline.

Directed by Jalmari Helander from a screenplay co-written by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvan, John Rambo “takes audiences back, years before the events of First Blood, diving deep into the roots and experiences that forged one of the big screen’s most enduring and complex characters.”

The cast also includes Yao, Jason Tobin, Quincy Isaiah, Jefferson White, and Tayme Thapthimthong.

Based on David Morrell’s 1972 novel, Sylvester Stallone first played John Rambo in 1982′s First Blood. He reprised the role in 1985′s Rambo: First Blood Part II, 1988′s Rambo III, 2008′s Rambo, and 2019′s Rambo: Last Blood.

Sylvester, 79, who was also a co-writer on the first five Rambo movies, signed on as an executive producer of the upcoming John Rambo movie last month. The movie is being filmed in Bangkok, Thailand.

Last year, it was announced that David will be starring alongside Patricia Arquette in a new true crime thriller directed by Courteney Cox.
