Daisy Jelley & Connor Simos Are Stassie & Nate

Netflix has officially found the leads for its upcoming Icebreaker series!

Daisy Jelley and Connor Simos have been cast as Anastasia “Stassie” Allen and Nate Hawkins, respectively, in the adaptation of Hannah Grace‘s bestselling romance novel.

Netflix announced the casting on Monday (September 28), several months after revealing that the viral BookTok hit was being developed as a TV series.

Daisy is known for projects including How to Have Sex, Geek Girl and the upcoming Netflix series Poser, while Connor recently appeared in Subversion.

Icebreaker follows Stassie, a competitive figure skater with her sights set on Olympic gold, and Nate, a college hockey star hoping to make it to the NHL.

When an accident forces their teams to share the same rink, the pair are thrown together and their competitive dynamic quickly becomes something more.

The series is based on Hannah‘s 2022 novel of the same name, the first installment in her Maple Hills series.

The book spent 70 consecutive weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and has sold nearly 5 million copies worldwide, according to Netflix. The full Maple Hills series has surpassed 7.5 million copies sold globally.

Amanda Lasher, whose credits include Gossip Girl and The Bold Type, is serving as showrunner, writer and executive producer.

Jade Halley Bartlett is the creator and an executive producer, while Hannah is also executive producing.

Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper, Matt Kaplan and Mina Lefevre will executive produce through Unwell Productions.

Netflix has not yet announced a premiere date for the series.
