Bethenny Frankel Reveals She Was ‘Misdiagnosed’ With a ‘Pretty Major’ Condition, Urges Fans to Get Second Opinions

Bethenny Frankel is opening up about her health.

The 55-year-old Real Housewives of New York City alum shared a video update about a diagnosis on Monday (August 3).

“So I really don’t wanna tell you this, but I have to tell you this because it could help one of you or several of you,” she began.

“I joined a medical community. It has teams of doctors that sort of cross-reference your markers, your labs…longevity. It’s sorta like…people go to the Mayo Clinic. It’s that sort of at home, different facilities. And it’s not just like a B.S. vanity concierge doctor. It’s very, very legitimate. And they look at supplements you’re taking, which people may say they’re great, but maybe they’re not great for you,” she continued.

“And they have said that I have been misdiagnosed with something pretty major…be very thorough in your labs, your checkups, your second, third opinions, like, your crowdsourcing of opinions,” she went on.

“Thankfully, now you have Chat[GPT], you have…don’t believe everything you hear on the internet, and don’t believe everything the Chat tells you,” she added of AI usage for diagnosis.

“But I do believe that whether it’s gluten intolerance or an allergy or gut or…everybody’s sort of saying that they have everything. I’m very confused because I was sort of operating with the idea that I do have this, and I don’t wanna throw anybody under the bus and tried to do the right thing, and it’s very confusing,” Bethenny said.

“And I just think that there’s nothing we should be more thorough about than our medical care, our health. And just think about it. Get a notebook out and whatever it is that you think you have or that someone said you have or symptoms that you are experiencing. I think we are so thorough about restaurants and shopping and other things, uh, and business, and I think we have to be very thorough about our health.”

Bethenny notably did not disclose the apparent misdiagnosis throughout the video.

“Misdiagnosed with what? Are you saying that you don’t have kidney disease?” one commenter wrote.

“Your vageness to this reel is frustrating – share the Dr group name for those of us who have chronic diseases please,” another wrote.

“I am not sure what this video is actually about since I think as someone who has so many followers, it could be helpful to others to make a video on a. how you got your your diagnosis and b. what it is ( if you’re going to be vague, may as well help others going through the same thing),” another commenter said.

“It would help if you would share the misdiagnosis,” said another follower.

She recently hit back at criticism for walking in a runway show.
