Bella Thorne Reveals She’s Writing, Directing, & Starring in ‘Spring Breakers’ Sequel

Bella Thorne is dishing on her next project!
Back in May 2025, Variety announced that the 28-year-old actress will be starring in the upcoming Spring Breakers sequel, Spring Breakers: Salvation Mountain.
At the time, Matthew Bright was attached to direct the sequel to the 2012 cult crime thriller.
While appearing on a recent episode of Call Her Daddy, Bella revealed that along with starring in the movie, she will also be writing and directing it!
“This time, things are different. They are crazy,” said Bella, who made her directorial debut with Color Your Hurt. “There’s a lot of craziness. There’s a lot of litness. There is so much litness in this movie.”

“Balls to the wall. That’s what everyone says when they read this script,” she added. “Balls to the wall.”
Along with Bella, Spring Breakers: Salvation Mountain will also star Ariel Martin, Grace Van Dien, and True Whitaker.
When the movie was announced last year, the synopsis read, “When their trip explodes out of control, they’re forced to outrun the chaos they’ve created,” and was described as a “bold new ride for Gen Z.”
Bella went on to say the movie is for people who want to “go to the theater and have fun.”
Written and directed by Harmony Korine, the first Spring Breakers starred James Franco, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine. The movie followed a group of four college girls who hold up a restaurant in order to fund their spring break vacation and after they are arrested, they are bailed out by a drug and arms dealer.
Also during her Call Her Daddy interview, Bella revealed which fellow Disney Channel star she was pitted against.
