‘Bel-Air’ Spinoff in the Works at Peacock, With Coco Jones Set to Reprise Hilary Banks Role

Coco Jones is set to lead a potential new spinoff of Bel-Air!

The 28-year-old actress and singer would star in Hilary and reprise her role as Hilary Banks in what could be the first Peacock original to get a spinoff, according to Deadline.

What is Hilary about?

In the potential spin-off, “after accepting an unexpected job offer from celebrity chef Yvonne Durand, Hilary Banks (Jones) impulsively moves to New York determined to prove herself beyond her Bel-Air connections — only to find that success, friendship and love in the city come with a cost she never anticipated.”

This would also mark a variation from Hilary’s journey in the final season of Bel-Air, where she went to Costa Rica to launch her own cafe, but then returned to Los Angeles.

In the original series, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Hilary also moved to New York.

The spinoff is being written by Tracy Oliver, who recently created and wrote shows such as Harlem and First Wives Club. She also wrote the 2017 hit movie Girls Trip.

Bel-Air was Peacock’s first hit and ran for four seasons

Bel-Air debuted in February 2022 on Peacock, and was the streamer’s first big hit. The series was a modern, dramatic reimagining of the popular 90s comedy The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Jabari Banks led the cast as Will, with Adrian Holmes (Phillip Banks), Cassandra Freeman (Vivian Banks), Olly Sholotan (Carlton Banks), Akira Akbar (Ashley Banks), Jimmy Akingbola (Geoffrey), Jordan L. Jones (Jazz), and Simone Joy Jones (Lisa).

The television show ran for four seasons before coming to an end in December 2025, with a surprise cameo from the OG Fresh Prince, Will Smith, who was also an executive producer on the show. He will also produce the spinoff, alongside Coco and Tracy Oliver.
