Just four days before his tragic passing, Kaia Gerber mentioned her older brother Presley Gerber in an interview, showing how much he was supporting her latest career accomplishment.

If you don’t know, Presley was only 27 years old when he passed on September 20.

The 25-year-old actress and model was at an event on September 16, when she was asked about her family supporting her FX series The Shards.

Here’s what Kaia Gerber said about her family, including her brother

“I watched with my parents, which sometimes was awesome and sometimes a little bit traumatizing for me and them. But for the most part, wonderful and beautiful, and they’re so supportive,” she said to People during the interview.

She then revealed that Presley had been watching and supporting her as well.

“My brother’s been watching, which is very sweet. He sends me photos watching,” she added.

Presley Gerber passed on Sunday (September 20), the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed to TMZ.

It is said that he was at a rehab facility at the time of his death.

Audio from dispatch calls apparently mentioned both cardiac arrest, as well as a suspected overdose when called to the scene of Presley Gerber‘s death (via People).

A police statement confirmed they are investigating this as a suspected overdose.

“On September 20, 2026, at approximately 9:35 a.m., Santa Monica Police Department officers responded to a report of a possible overdose. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male who was deceased. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner has identified the individual as Presley Gerber, 27,” they confirmed in a statement to E! News.

They confirmed that “detectives are investigating the death as a suspected overdose. At this time, there is no indication of foul play. The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.”

It has also been confirmed that his autopsy has officially been completed.

People reports that his cause of death has been listed as “deferred” at this time.
