Anna Faris Reveals She’s Sober, Says She Quit Drinking Alcohol to Stop the ‘Self-Sabotage’

Anna Faris is opening up about her decision to quit drinking alcohol.
While appearing on the Thursday (August 20) episode of the Dear Chelsea podcast, the 49-year-old Spa Weekend actress admitted that she just stopped feeling “ungracious” for her comedic career “only in the last year.”
“I really started to notice and appreciate if and when people recognize me, they would usually smile … thinking about something f–king stupid I did onscreen,” Anna explained, which lead host Chelsea Handler to ask where that had to do with her no longer drinking.
“Do you think that has to do with not drinking?” Chelsea asked. “Because I know you stopped drinking. Maybe that lit that a little bit.”

Anna confirmed this, saying that her mindset shift is “one of the many gifts” of sobriety.
“Turns out there’s a correlation between drinking and depression for me for sure,” the Scary Movie actress said. “I had to take a step back to not self-sabotage.”
She went on to say that hormone patches have “made a huge difference” in her mental health.
Anna didn’t reveal how long it’s been since she stopped drinking.
In another recent interview, Anna shared more details behind her decision to exit her hit sitcom Mom.
