Hugh Dancy Marks 20-Year Milestone in Relationship with Claire Danes: 'I Picked Right' | Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Hugh Dancy and Claire Danes have been together for 20 years and he’s opening up about the strength of their relationship.

The couple met in 2006 and got married in 2009. They are parents to three children – son Cyrus, 13, son Rowan, almost 8, and daughter Shay, 3.

While promoting the upcoming season of Law & Order, Hugh chatted with E! News about his relationship with his wife.

Hugh Dancy says he “picked right” with Claire Danes.

“I picked right,” Hugh told E! News.

When asked what makes their marriage so strong, Hugh said, “I could give you a lot. It would just sound cliché, but I mean, it’s all true: care and consideration, all the rest of it. Time takes on different meanings as you pass the big milestones in 5, 10 years… We’re just doing our best.”

Hugh says there is not just one secret to having a strong marriage.

“I don’t think there’s a single secret that you can pass on to anybody else,” he said. “You never know what’s the truth of somebody else’s relationship.”

While appearing on Amy Poehler‘s Good Hang podcast in January, Claire was asked about Hugh.

“Hugh and I are very lucky,” she said. “We’re well-matched humans. I think our parenting styles are pretty level and equal as well.”

“He’s a swell dude,” she added.

Claire recently opened up about learning that she was pregnant at 43.
