Naomi Watts Confirms She Voices E.V.I.E. in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ Celebrates Tom Holland Reunion!

Naomi Watts is officially confirming her surprise role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The 57-year-old two-time Academy Award nominee revealed on Tuesday (August 4) that she provides the voice of E.V.I.E., Peter Parker’s self-created artificial intelligence assistant, in the hit Marvel movie.
The cameo was quietly confirmed in the film’s end credits and reported by Just Jared last week, but Naomi had not publicly discussed her involvement before sharing a behind-the-scenes Instagram post.
“From playing your mom to playing your AI (100% human made),” she captioned photos from the project, including a screenshot of a Zoom call with director Destin Daniel Cretton.
She then celebrated the movie’s record-setting launch, writing, “Congrats Tom, Destin, and the whole Spider-Man: Brand New Day team on the historic opening weekend!! Immensely proud to even be just a tiny part of this incredible film!”

E.V.I.E. serves as an AI companion created by Tom Holland‘s Peter to assist him while he navigates his new life after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day end credits scene theory explained: Why fans are talking about Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
The casting creates a sweet full-circle reunion for Naomi and Tom. She previously played his mother in the 2012 tsunami drama The Impossible, which was Tom‘s first major movie role and earned Naomi an Academy Award nomination.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now playing in theaters and has surpassed $1 billion worldwide after just six days.
