Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to affray in relation to an alleged incident at a London nightclub.

The 37-year-old singer entered the plea at London’s Southwark Crown Court on Friday (July 24) in a hearing that took less than five minutes, according to BBC.

His co-defendent, rapper HoodyBaby (whose real name Omololu Akinlolu) also pleaded guilty to the charge.

Chris was accused of attacking Abraham Diaw, a former friend, at Tape nightclub in Mayfair on February 19, 2023. At the time, Diaw accused Chris of an unprovoked attack at the nightclub around 3 a.m., saying Chris struck him with a bottle and punched and kicked him.

The “With You” rapper was arrested for the incident two years later in 2025 and officially charged with “grievous bodily harm with intent.” He was later released on a £5 million (about $6.7 million) bail.

Chris and HoodyBaby previously pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and grievous bodily harm last June. These charges, along with Chris’ charge of possessing an offensive weapon, have been dropped, the BBC reported

After pleading guilty, Judge Tony Baumgartner scheduled the sentencing hearing for the affray charges for both men for October 26. The judge set bail conditions that Chris is allowed to leave the UK, but he must return on October 25.

Chris‘ guilty plea comes weeks after he was ordered to pay nearly $13 million in damages to his former housekeeper after she was viciously attacked by one of his dogs in 2020.
