Selling Sunset’s Mary Bonnet Talks Not Being Able to Go In Office Or Hang Out With Former Co-Stars After Exiting Netflix Show

Mary Bonnet is opening up about how it’s been since leaving Selling Sunset.

The 45-year-old real estate agent was a main cast member on the Netflix reality show for nine seasons before leaving the series ahead of the upcoming tenth season.

In a newly released interview on the Whine Down podcast with Jana Kramer, Mary dished on how things have been different since the show started filming earlier this summer.

Mary says it’s “weird” to be excluded from things

When asked if there were things she misses, Mary responded that she is now excluded from show-related things.

“Definitely, now there is something, because I filmed with most of the people are really my best friends, and being able to just be a part of something with my best friends and be there, and partake in just daily life because they film us doing the things, and now I can’t be a part of that,” Mary said. “So, it feels weird that I’m almost excluded from that just because I’m not on the show. But, you know, it makes sense why. It’s just not not being a part of that, which I was for so long, I think, and being part of the show, that’s just, it almost becomes your identity at some point, you know, and now it’s a little odd, I guess.”

She went on to explain that she and her husband Romain try to spend time with people when they can.

“But you know, filming takes up a lot of time and we don’t get to see each other quite as much, which is, you know, kind of sad, but it is what it is.”

Mary says she’s not allowed to go into the Oppenheim Group office when they’re filming

Mary shared that she “absolutely” still works there, but since she’s not on the show anymore, she can’t go in the office if they’re filming.

“Well, I guess I’m allowed to go into the office, just not when they’re filming, but we don’t know when they’re filming,” she said. “If you’re not part of the cast, then you don’t know when they’re filming. So, it makes it a little complicated.”

“I’ve seen, you know, some articles come out where they twisted things that I said, and I’m allowed to go into the office, I’m allowed to do certain things,” Mary added. “Just when they’re filming, they just want to focus on the cast, so they can’t have the other agents going through there where they’re not part of it, and it’ll interrupt their scenes.”

Mary also recently said she wasn’t allowed to attend an event that she had bought tickets for

“Even for Rose Day — that Jason [Oppenheim] and I go to every year together — had the tickets and I wasn’t allowed to go,” she told Us Weekly. “They said, ‘No, Mary can’t come because they were going to film part of it.’ They don’t want anybody from the [past] cast overpower or overshadow the new cast. They don’t want people taking the attention away from their storylines.”

“I was like, ‘You’re keeping me from my friends? You can’t keep me away from there.’ They sure did,” she added. “So that part I was very frustrated about and I’m sad about that. I have to be separated from my friends.”
