David Duchovny Says He Thought He & Shaq Were 'Gonna Be Friends' After Courtside Moment at Lakers Game - Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

David Duchovny had a very unexpected courtside bonding moment with Shaquille O’Neal, but he’s still waiting on the friendship to officially happen.
The X-Files actor is the latest guest to appear on Hot Ones, where he looked back at a Lakers game that ended with Shaq leaving the bench to sit beside him after Los Angeles had pulled far ahead.
“It was a highlight. I have the picture. I have it framed. I look like a child next to Shaq. I look like a little baby next to Shaq,” David said.

Shaq told David Duchovny he didn’t watch The X-Files episodes without him
He recalled that Shaq first sent word through a ball boy that he didn’t watch The X-Files when David wasn’t on it, leading David to send back, “tell him I don’t watch the Lakers when he’s injured.”
After Shaq sat next to him later in the game, the Californication star joked, “And I’m like me and Shaq are gonna be friends now, look at this.”
Sadly, the friendship didn’t fully take off.
“So, Shaq, I’m still here,” David joked.
Elsewhere in the episode, David shared memories from MTV Rock N’ Jock, including wanting to beat Reggie Miller before the NBA star asked for a photo. He also remembered watching Prince soundcheck while working as a bartender at Radio City Music Hall and fighting what he described as a “poop monster” on The X-Files.
