Dancing With the Stars’ Alan Bersten & Emma Slater Open Up About Moving From Friends to Real-Life Couple

Alan Bersten is opening up about dating Emma Slater.

The 32-year-old Dancing With the Stars pro opened up about the moment he knew that he and his 37-year-old co-star were getting closer.

“It’s one of those things where you just look and you’re like, ‘Why haven’t we? And then it’s just been so special,” he said to E! News.

Emma added: “We’ve always been really good friends, and now we have a great relationship. It feels really good.”

“We get to travel a lot,” Alan said.

“And we try to enjoy the cities and the moments, the dinners and just our little dog Jeff as much as we can. And that’s what really grounds me.”

Emma pointed out that the “busy bits are fun too.”

“If you find enjoyment in that. And you’re able to support each other whilst doing seemingly stressful things, it’s not so stressful.”

The couple debuted their relationship with a public kiss onstage during the final night of the Dancing With the Stars live tour in 2025.

Emma is responding to the rumors she might be leaving the show.

The pro dancer joined the long-running reality competition series for season 14, and was later promoted to pro in season 17.
