'X-Men' Reboot Movie Casts First Actor with Samara Weaving Set as Emma Frost | Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Samara Weaving is the first actor to be attached to the upcoming X-Men movie!

Marvel Studios is rebooting X-Men with Jake Schreier directing the movie after he was acclaimed for his work on the Thunderbolts film.

Deadline reports that Samara is going to be playing Emma Frost, a telepathic Mutant.

January Jones previously played the role in X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past. While the character was going to make appearances in other X-Men movies, that never happened, but it appears she’s going to be a key part of the next installment.

Samara, who just gave birth to her first child, has had a big year with the release of her movie Ready or Not 2: Here I Come and indie films Over Your Dead Body and Carolina Caroline.

The Deadline article notes that Samara was among the final actors who tested for the role in early July and her “audition was too hard to beat.” No other casting has been revealed as of now.

Samara recently opened up about a cringe-worthy audition story that involved reading naughty lines with her parents.
