Aryna Sabalenka is out at the 2026 French Open.

After being defeated by Coco Gauff at last year’s event, the 28-year-old tennis player was defeated by Diana Shnaider on Wednesday (June 3) at Roland Garros in Paris, France.

Aryna lost in a 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 defeat, per The Athletic.

Last year, Aryna made some strong claims after she lost her final French Open match to Coco, claiming she made too many mistakes and not because of Coco‘s skill. Now, Coco is responding to her opponent’s claims.

“I was a little bit surprised about the comments and everything, but I’m gonna give her the benefit of the doubt. I’m sure it was an emotional day, emotional match,” Coco said at the time.

Diana, who beat Aryna this year, also beat Australian Open champion Madison Keys in the previous round, defeating two Slam champions back to back to reach her first Major semi-final. This also marked her first win over a world No. 1.

Diana will now play Maja Chwali?ska in the semifinals.

Aryna has been happily wearing her massive 12-carat ring while playing tennis after getting engaged to her boyfriend of two years Georgios Frangulis earlier this year.

She said back in March, “It feels pretty comfy. It feels shiny. I hope that my opponent will get distracted by this diamond and it’s going to benefit me.”
