‘Widow’s Bay’ Season 2? Renewal Status Revealed for Apple TV Show

Widow’s Bay is one of the most critically acclaimed new shows on Apple TV.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Widow’s Bay is a quaint island town 40 miles off the coast of New England. But something lurks beneath the surface. Mayor Tom Loftis (Matthew Rhys) is desperate to revive his struggling community. There’s no Wi-Fi, spotty cellular reception and he must contend with superstitious locals who believe their island is cursed. He wants these people to respect him. They don’t. They think he is soft and cowardly. And he is. But Loftis is determined to build a better future for his teenage son and turn the island into a tourist destination. Miraculously, he succeeds: tourists are finally coming. Unfortunately, the locals were right. After decades of calm, the old stories that seemed too ludicrous to be true, start happening again. Widow’s Bay blends genuine horror with character-driven comedy.
The series currently boasts a 97% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 92% audience score.
As of right now, it’s No. 1 on the Most Popular Now list on Apple TV.
But will it be getting a second season?
As of right now, Widow’s Bay has not been renewed
There have not been any official announcements from Apple about the fate of the TV series, which wraps up with a Season 1 finale on June 17.
The show’s creator Katie Dippold was recently asked in an interview with The Cut about the potential for a renewal, however.
“Season one is a lot about denial and repression and acceptance,” she explained before pondering potential future seasons.
“Going forward would be about really living in it. What kind of leader can you be in these circumstances?”
Stay tuned as we wait to hear whether Widow’s Bay gets another season.
