News broke this week that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her fiance Riley Roberts quietly ended their engagement sometime in the last few years.

If you are not aware, the pair usually kept their relationship very private, and only made one public appearance together at the 2021 Met Gala.

A year later in May 2022, AOC confirmed that she and Riley were engaged. At the time, she revealed that Riley proposed to her while they were in Puerto Rico.

Amid the report that they split, AOC was asked about her relationship status

A New York Post reporter asked the Democratic representative about her personal life amid the report.

She then revealed why we won’t be hearing confirmation from her: she doesn’t reveal details about her personal life.

She said specifically: “I don’t comment on my private life. Thank you.”

The politician has been open about her fertility plans

News of the split came just one day after the Congresswoman revealed she is freezing her eggs and documenting her journey, which she admittedly described as “very daunting.”
