Tony-Winning Hit Musical ‘The Outsiders’ Lands in Los Angeles as It Enters Year 2

The hit musical The Outsiders has been touring around North American for the past year and the production just arrived in Los Angeles amid the launch of year two.
The Tony-winning show opened at the Pantages Theatre last week to a lot of fanfare among L.A. theater lovers.
JustJared.com attended a performance of the musical during its opening week in town and we’re happy to report that the touring production is just as strong as its Broadway counterpart. The original production became an instant favorite among young theatregoers and it’s already clear that the same audience is embracing the show around the country. The venue was filled with young theater fans eager to fall in love with a new show!

The Outsiders is an adaptation of the beloved S.E. Hinton novel, which was turned into a 1983 movie.
In Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1967, Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade and their Greaser family of ‘outsiders’ battle with their affluent rivals, the Socs. The Outsiders navigates the complexities of self-discovery as the Greasers dream about who they want to become in a world that may never accept them.
The year two cast of the tour includes Nolan White as Ponyboy Curtis, Bonale Fambrini as Johnny Cade, Anthony Garcia as Dallas Winston, Travis Roy Rogers as Darrel Curtis, Corbin Drew Ross as Sodapop Curtis, Emma Hearn as Cherry Valance, Jaydon Nget as Two-Bit, Gabriel White Marín as Bob, and Dante D’Antonio as Paul.
Here’s a fun fact: Travis and Emma are actually engaged in real life!
During a stop at CBS LA Mornings last week, Travis said, “Funny enough, our characters are some of the very few who don’t really interact in the show. I only say ‘hi’ and ‘bye’ to her in one scene. So we have a little work life balance there. We don’t really actually interact much on the stage. But it’s really wonderful to have each other backstage and just the support system. It’s a really unique experience to tour a show. To have each other in that, we are spoiled.”
Emma added, “Because we don’t really overlap much on stage, we get to watch each other from the wings off stage, like every night. What a gift to get to see the person you love do the thing that they love to do. And they’re so good at it. It’s the best. It’s a dream.”

The Outsiders is playing at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre through October 18. Get tickets now!
The production will then move just a little bit south to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, Calif. from October 20 to November 1. Get tickets!
