Toni Braxton took to her instagram to show love to her sister Trina’s late husband, Von Scales.

Following BOSSIP’s exclusive report that Scales passed away on Oct. 1, slightly after midnight, the legendary R&B icon posted a loving tribute to her brother-in-law, who fans got to know on Braxton Family Values.

“Rest in Peace to my brother in law, Von, my sister’s true soulmate,” she wrote. “We will continue to love and remember you.”

Though Trina has not posted about the loss of Von herself yet, fans flooded her comments with condolences after Toni’s post, pointing out that the two had been working on their fitness journey together, documenting it for others in hopes of inspiring them to do the same. No cause of death has been noted for Scales but, as BOSSIP previously reported, there are claims that he may have had heart-related issues.

“Aw Trina I’m so sorry praying for you love,” one kind fan wrote under a post. “God may you pls give Trina the strength to get through this difficult time Lord you had the final say so in this transition pls cover her with your blood God she may have experienced so much in the past yrs BUT it’s you God that will bring her through praying for her and her family.”

“Cannot believe this loss. I just watched u too on this page over the weekend and was reflecting on all u been thru. I am deeply saddened by this and will be praying for the Scales and Braxton family,” said another.

Scales was Braxton’s second husband, her first was Gabriel Solis, who she was married to from 2003 to 2015. He also appeared on Braxton Family Values and was a controversial presence. He, unfortunately, passed away after a battle with cancer in Dec. 2018. The Braxton family also lost their beloved sister, Traci, in 2022. She was only 50 years old when she lost her fight with cancer.

We are certainly sending our biggest hugs and lots of love to the Braxton and Scales families.
