Today show’s Dylan Dreyer is explaining why she went on vacation with her former in-laws while her estranged husband Brian Fichera was not present.
The two separated last year after 12 years of marriage, and she filed for divorce in March. They share sons Calvin, 9, Oliver, 6, and Rusty, 4.
Why did Dylan Dreyer go on vacation with her former in-laws despite filing for divorce?
This week, Dylan acted as guest host of the fourth hour of the Today show, and explained why she went on the trip with her husband’s family.
“Family is family,” Dylan said. If you don’t know, every year, the family goes to Turks and Caicos together. She decided to go with his family.
Why Dylan Dreyer’s estranged husband did not go on the trip this year
According to Today, Brian Fichera had scheduling conflicts so he could not attend. Her sister-in-law, mother-in-law, and father-in-law were all there.
“I still went. I took the boys. To me, yes, it was a family I married into, but it’s a family I’m very close with,” she shared. “I would just sit back and I’m like, ‘All right, I’m just gonna soak this in.’ I had a great time.”
