'Supergirl' Opening Weekend Box Office Numbers Revealed - Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

The Supergirl numbers are in!
The new DC Universe movie starring Milly Alcock hit theaters on Friday (June 26) and debuted at No. 2 at the domestic box behind Toy Story 5, which was released last week.
Supergirl has brought in $38 million from 3,600 North America theaters and $68 million globally, according to Variety.
DC Studios and Warner Bros. was targeting a domestic start around $50 million to $55 million. The cost $170 million to make, not including the marketing budget. Supergirl would need to earn at least $375 million to break even as theater owners get to keep roughly half of revenues.
The movie currently has a 56% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 77% audience score.
Here’s the logline for the new DC movie: When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl), reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.
Directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira, the movie also stars Jason Momoa, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Eve Ridley. David Corenswet reprises his role as Superman in the movie.
