Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi Reveals She’s Cancer-Free Six Months After Cervical Cancer Diagnosis

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is sharing some very exciting news – she’s cancer-free!

Nearly seven months after being diagnosed with stage one cervical cancer, the 38-year-old Jersey Shore star announced that she’s now “on the other side.”

“As of right now, I am cancer-free,” she told People in an interview published on Friday, September 18. “They got everything out. So I’m definitely happy that I did it.”

Following her cancer diagnosis in February, Nicole underwent a hysterectomy in July.

“I avoided getting my pap smear for a long time,” she admitted. “And once I finally went to the doctors, I feel like it’s just been week after week of doing a procedure, then another procedure, and then a hysterectomy. So, it’s been a journey and a long road, but I’m happy that I’m on the other side of it and everything is going good.”

Despite the good news, Nicole – who shares kids Lorenzo, 13, Giovanna, 11, and Angelo, 6, with husband Jionni LaValle – said that she’s still taking things one day at a time.

“I’m trying to listen to my body and give my body grace and not go crazy,” she shared. “There’s days where I do too much and then I just feel exhausted and I start getting pains. But other than that, I’m finally starting to feel better. I feel like I’m almost getting back to myself.”

After admitting that her diagnosis was initially “very terrifying and scary,” Nicole said she’s grateful for where she is today.

“In the beginning, I felt so alone,” Nicole said. “I had no idea what was gonna happen. I didn’t know anybody going through cervical cancer. So [speaking out] makes me feel like I’m giving a platform to women dealing with the same things that I did. Just a safe place for us women to talk.”

Earlier this month, fellow Jersey Shore star Jenni “JWOWW” Farley revealed that she had been hospitalized.
