Lorrayne Mavromatis filed a federal lawsuit in North Carolina, where the company is based, on Wednesday (April 22), calling the company a “boy’s club” where multiple female staffers have been sexually harassed by supervisors, and alleging company leaders dismissed concerns.

In the complaint, Lorrayne alleges the company violated the Family and Medical Leave Act, after wrongful discharge and intentional infliction of emotional distress upon her returning from pregnancy leave.

However, Jimmy himself is not named in the lawsuit.

Beast Industries has responded to the filing, calling it “clout-chasing” and advances “deliberate misrepresentations and categorically false statements” that can be disproven.

“There is extensive evidence — including Slack and WhatsApp messages, company documents, and witness testimony — that unequivocally refutes her claims,” the response says.

Lorrayne was hired in 2022 as the head of Instagram before being promoted to head of creative, for which was paid $250,000 to manage the verticals division, and she says she was subject to multiple retaliatory demotions and transfers.

One incident she recalls is former CEO James Warren allegedly harassing her after he made her meet him at his home for one-on-one meetings about a client’s sexual advances.

She asked why Jimmy wouldn’t work with her on certain projects and was told she is a “beautiful woman” and her “appearance had a certain sexual effect on Jimmy,” which the company has said was “fabricated for the sole purpose of sparking headlines” and for “a multimillion dollar payday.”

In her complaint, Lorrayne points out a handbook that was given to employees, which states “no does not mean no” and the “amount of hours you work is irrelevant.

She says the company did not have a process to report sexual harassment and discrimination incidents in 2023, which is when she made a complaint against Warren and Donaldson.

Following an investigation, she says she was demoted to social media manager for merchandise, and after going on maternity leave shortly after, she was asked to work on multiple projects, including a trip to Brazil. However, she says she was fired three weeks after returning from her leave.

Jimmy is pictured here attending the TIME100 Summit in NYC on Wednesday (April 22), where he was asked about the lawsuit.

He said he’s “brought in more experienced people” as he grew the company, and that he wasn’t “the best to set up culture at that scale, so the new C-suite and stuff have been amazing to have.”

Reportedly, the company distributed a formal handbook back in March 2025 that details Family and Medical Leave Act rights, among other things as they instituted formal policies and processes.
