Melinda Gates Pledges Another $215 Million to Women's Health Initiatives Worldwide - Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Melinda French Gates is once again donating to several important causes for women.
The 60-year-old philanthropist and former partner of Bill Gates announced a $215 million pledge to support women’s health initiatives across the world, including maternal care, menopause studies and contraceptive access.
This brings her total donations towards women’s health to over $600 million in just the past two years, according to AP, which also receives financial support for covering news about women in the workforce from her organization, Pivotal.
“It’s just blaringly obvious that women’s health is fundamental — she has to be well to do well in life,” she said in a statement to the organization.
“The role of philanthropy, in my opinion, is to look at some of these societal problems that have been left behind, and shine light on them, show ways of making progress so you can then crowd in other donors and ultimately crowd in government funding. Part of what I’m doing here, I hope, is sending a signal to say, ‘This is really important. Let’s do something about it.’ And my hope is that I’ll be able to get others who will join me,” Melinda said.
The donation includes $40 million to Co-Impact for a mental health initiative tied to maternal and primary care, especially in Africa, and a $10 million donation to the Menopause Society for healthcare practitioner education and expanded outreach.
Earlier this year, she spoke out about her ex husband Bill Gates‘ headlines over the Epstein Files.
