Mason Thames Cast as Robin in DC’s ‘Dynamic Duo,’ 3 More Stars Join Voice Cast!

Mason Thames is joining the world of DC!

The 19-year-old How to Train Your Dragon and Black Phone actor has been cast as Dick Grayson, aka Robin, in the upcoming animated movie Dynamic Duo.

Several more stars have also joined the voice cast, including Logan Kim, Lee Pace and Steve Buscemi.

Who Is Playing Robin in Dynamic Duo?

Mason will voice Dick Grayson, the first Robin, while Logan will play Jason Todd, who becomes the second Robin in the comics, via TheWrap.

The upcoming movie will put a new spin on their story by depicting Dick and Jason as childhood friends and orphans whose lives eventually take them in very different directions.

Dick is taken in by Bruce Wayne and becomes Robin alongside Batman, while Jason becomes involved with the Red Hood Gang.

Lee will voice Red Hood One, while Steve has been cast as Red Hood Two.

After news of his casting broke, Mason seemingly celebrated the role on Instagram by sharing a look at a collection of comics featuring Dick Grayson’s later superhero identity, Nightwing.

What Do We Know About Dynamic Duo?

The animated movie is being directed by Arthur Mintz and is a collaboration between Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, DC Studios, Matt Reeves‘ production company 6th & Idaho and Swaybox Studios.

The project is using a combination of computer animation, models and large-scale puppetry to bring the story to life.

One major role has yet to be officially revealed: Batman.

There has been speculation about who could voice Bruce Wayne, but no casting for the character has been officially confirmed at this time.

Fans will also have to wait a little longer to see the movie.

Dynamic Duo was previously scheduled to hit theaters on June 30, 2028, but Warner Bros. has moved the release date to September 22, 2028.
