Maria Bartiromo Breaks Her Silence One Week After Fox News Announced Her Departure from the Network

Maria Bartiromo is breaking her silence following news that she and Fox News have parted ways.

If you didn’t see, the network announced on September 3 that they were cutting ties with the 58-year-old news anchor after she spent 12 years with them.

“We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” Fox News said in a statement (via THR). No reason for the exit was given at this time, and it’s unclear if she was fired or left on her own.

On Thursday (September 10), one day before her 59th birthday, Maria took to X to thank fans and loved ones for all of their support over the last week.

“Thank you to all friends & followers for your amazing words I am so grateful for the outpouring of love on SM & texts,” she wrote. I love you all. here’s a great shot of the breaking through, I snapped the other day. More to come.”

Following news of her departure from Fox News, Maria‘s lawyer released a statement slamming reports that she had been fired or no longer an employee at the network.

“The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false,” her lawyer stated. “Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise.”
