Lacey Chabert Talks Highlight of Filming Hallmark+ Series in Paris & What Fans Can Expect from Upcoming Disney World Movie (Exclusive) | Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Lacey Chabert is preparing for the release of her new Hallmark+ series Paris Is Always a Good Idea and we had the chance to catch up with her at a Hallmark store visit, where hundreds of fans lined up to meet her!

The beloved actress, who has starred in more than 40 movies for Hallmark Channel, greeted fans at Norman’s Hallmark Shop on Monday afternoon (July 27) in Clark, New Jersey.

Lacey is now starring in her first scripted limited series for the network. Paris Is Always a Good Idea, based on the best-selling novel of the same name, will debut on the streaming service on Thursday, July 30 with the first two episodes, followed by a new one each week through August 27.

Lacey also has partnered with Hallmark on the Lacey Chabert Collection, a product line featuring home decor items, nostalgic gifts, and gift-wrapping options. Fans at the store visit entered into a raffle, with many going home with autographed products!

Before Lacey personally greeted more than 400 fans, JustJared.com had the chance to chat with her about the Hallmark Channel fan community, the inspiration for her product line, her highlight from filming in Paris, and what fans can expect from her upcoming Disney World movie airing during Countdown to Christmas.

JUST JARED: There are so many people outside today. What’s it like coming to this event and seeing the line down the block? Does that ever get old?

LACEY CHABERT: No, it makes me tear up, honestly. We make these movies and these shows for our fans. And we have the most loyal and wonderful fans in the world. To see people come out, and stand in line, and show their support, I can’t tell you, it means so much. And I love getting to meet people and share stories. It makes my day.

JJ: And your collection is out front today. How does it feel seeing your line in the stores?

LC: I still can’t believe my name is on it. It’s really surreal. I use all of it at home and I love it. I’m super passionate about it. It’s been such a fun collaboration. And again, I think the word is surreal. I just enjoy it so much. And I love that through the movies, I’ve been a part of people’s celebrations, and holidays, and milestones, and now I get to do that with the product line. It’s very special.

JJ: The other day you posted on Instagram about your love of art. I was wondering, how did your love for art play into the design aspect of the product line? Are you involved in creating the artwork?

LC: Yes! The incredible team at Hallmark did such a great job with everything they presented me with. I really loved it. They modeled it after my style and aesthetic. I was very involved in all of it. It was such a fun collaboration. And the holiday line, a lot of the inspiration was taken from the 1950s archive of Hallmark, specifically 1957. That was the year my mom was born. My love of vintage things is something that is passed down from my mom so it felt very serendipitous. 

JJ: Paris Is Always a Good Idea is coming out this week! How was it filming a series for Hallmark compared to working on the movies? 

LC: After doing over 40 movies for Hallmark, which I love and enjoy them all, it was so nice to have six episodes to delve into this story. I love this story so much. Yes, it’s a sweeping romance. We go to Paris, and Spain, and Ireland. We also take the audience on a journey with this character, not only looking back at these relationships she had 10 years prior, but really also looking back at the version of herself that she was in that chapter of her life and how she’s changed and how she hasn’t. It goes deeper. Having the six episodes really gave us the chance to explore those emotions and audiences will love that it’s the same heartfelt content they come to Hallmark for.

JJ: Do you have a highlight from your time working in Paris?

LC: Oh my gosh, filming at the Eiffel Tower! It was amazing. It was spectacular. We were all so excited about that night. When else do you ever get the chance to spend overnight at the Eiffel Tower? What we didn’t expect was a massive rainstorm. And then it started snowing. In March! You’re like, how is it snowing? This is not a Christmas movie! It was so surreal. But it was spectacular. And even doing walk-and-talks, there was one in particular where we were walking in front of the Arc de Triomphe and I couldn’t believe that. It took my breath away. 

JJ: Fast forward to Christmas, you have your Disney World movie, Holiday Ever After, coming out this year. What can fans expect from that?

LC: Disney magic mixed with Hallmark Christmas magic! That was such a childhood dream come true for me. We got to ride rides, we filmed across the four parks, it was absolutely magical. It’s such a sweet love story and it’s also a beautiful family story. For me, it was just a dream come true. It’s funny! I can’t say enough about it. I’m so proud of the movie.
