'Klara & the Sun' Trailer: Jenna Ortega Plays an 'Artificial Friend' In Taika Waititi-Directed Movie - Watch Now! - Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

The trailer for Jenna Ortega‘s new movie Klara and the Sun has arrived!

The 23-year-old actress stars as a robot, or an “artificial friend” in the upcoming Taika Waititi-directed film, which is based on the book of the same name by Kazuo Ishiguro.

Here’s the synopsis:

Klara and the Sun introduces audiences to Klara (Ortega), an Artificial Friend who wants nothing more than to find the perfect home. When Klara meets Josie, each immediately senses a kindred spirit in the other. Josie has a fraught relationship with her mother and they’ve suffered great loss, but Klara’s innocent wonder and unwavering loyalty begin to heal the family and bring light to Josie’s complicated world.

Also starring in the feature include Mia Tharia as Josie, Amy Adams as her mother, and Aran Murphy, Steve Buscemi and Natasha Lyonne.

In addition to directing, Taika also wrote the movie with Dahvi Waller, and her serves as a producer.

Klara and the Sun is set to debut in theaters on October 23rd.

If you missed it, Jenna was seen on set filming for the upcoming third season of her Netflix series Wednesday. She’s also set to star in another movie, Lily May B.
