Kim Zolciak & Kroy Biermann’s Son KJ, 15, Seeks Juvenile Court After Sexual Assault Indictment | Just Jared

KJ Biermann‘s legal team has filed a new motion in his sexual assault case.

The 15-year-old son of Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Kim Zolciak and former NFL player Kroy Biermann was recently arrested and indicted on seven felony sexual assault charges.

In a new move in the cast, Page Six reports that his lawyers have filed a motion for him to “transfer to juvenile court and for confidentiality proceedings.”

This points to his attorneys asking the Superior Court to transfer his case to the juvenile court system, instead of being prosecuted as an adult, and he could face less severe consequences if convicted.

The teen’s lawyer, Jason Sheffield, told Page Six on Tuesday (September 8) that they expect to “enter a not guilty plea to all charges” at his arraignment hearing in October.

“It is difficult to comprehend that a 14- or 15-year-old child can be held in detention for a month or longer simply waiting for a bond hearing,” the lawyer said in a statement. “But that detention is a direct consequence of the detective’s decision to arrest him on charges of this magnitude.”

KJ was arrested in late August and is being held without bond, followed by an indictment last week on seven felony charges, including aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, three counts of sexual battery against a child under 16, and false imprisonment.

The arrest comes after a female classmate accused KJ of assaulting her inside of a gym changing area in April.

Along with KJ, Kim and Kroy are also parents to son Kash, 14, and 12-year-old twins Kaia and Kane. After marrying Kim in 2011, Kroy legally adopted her two older daughters, Brielle, 27, and Ariana, 24. The former couple married in 2011 and split in 2023.
