Kerry Washington & Tony Goldwyn Share Where They Believe Their 'Scandal' Characters Are Today - Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn are taking a trip down memory lane!
The Scandal co-stars recently reunited for a new episode of Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series, which was released on Saturday (June 6).
During their conversation, Kerry, 49, and Tony, 66, shared where they believe there characters, Olivia Pope and President Fitz Grant, are today.

“People feel very strongly that they’re in Vermont, making jam and all that,” Kerry said. “Do you feel that way?”
“I feel that Fitz and Olivia are together,” Tony answered. “I feel that what we had at the root of it was very real, and it’s why we could never get away from it — as opposed to being something that was ultimately dysfunctional. I thought ultimately these two people were their answer to each other.”
When Kerry asked if he thinks their characters are in couples therapy now, Tony responded, “Yes, regularly! Because they know that’s what they have to do to survive. But I think Fitz spent some time in Vermont. He needed to get out of the toxic patterns.”
“Did he make jam on his own?” Kerry asked as Tony replied, “I think Olivia probably taught him how to make jam, but then when she ate his jam, she’s like, ‘Your jam sucks!'”
“Your jam is terrible, Kerry quipped.

Throughout Scandal‘s seven seasons, Olivia and Fitz had a very up and down relationship and in the series finale, it appeared as though they ended up together as they reunited on the National Mall and just lovingly said “Hi” to each other.
During their new conversation, Kerry and Tony discussed their characters’ ending.
“What did you think about the ending?” Kerry asked
“I loved it,” Tony answered.
Kerry agreed, saying, “I did too. The ‘Hi’ in the street. I don’t mean the portrait stuff — I mean our ending, the Olitz ending.”
After Scandal ended in 2018, creator Shonda Rhimes addressed the possibility of rebooting the series one day in the future.
