Kelly Osbourne Explains Why She Cut Ties with Estranged Older Sister Aimee Osbourne | Just Jared

Kelly Osbourne is sharing some rare comments about her relationship with her estranged sister Aimee Osbourne.

Unlike the rest of her family, Aimee, 43, lives a very private life outside of the public eye and decided not to participate in their MTV reality show, which ran for four seasons from 2002 to 2005. Over the years, Aimee has made a handful of public appearances, most recently earlier this year at the 2026 Grammy Awards where her late dad Ozzy Osbourne was honored.

While appearing on the September 15 episode of the We Need to Talk podcast, Kelly explained why she has permanently cut ties with Aimee.

“We’re not close,” Kelly said, noting that she couldn’t “tell the whole truth” about why she doesn’t have a relationship with Aimee because she didn’t “want to speak on behalf” of her older sister.

“I believe there’s a reason for everything; it just wasn’t meant to be for her,” Kelly continued. “It was always me and Jack [Osbourne]. If I’m honest, my older sister didn’t really ever acknowledge me and my brother. She was just in her own world doing her own thing.”

She went on to say that it has felt like Aimee is “embarrassed” of their entire family.

“I’ll never really, truly understand. It just felt that way,” Kelly said. “We’re very different. Everything I am, she’s not. Everything she is, I’m not. You couldn’t be more polar opposite. We’re like oil and water.”

She continued, “I will tell you it’s one of the hardest things of my life, that I never got a big sister. And I had to learn how to do certain things that a big sister should have taught you on my own. And I do have a resentment there. I’ll have that forever.”

When asked if there’s a chance that they could reconcile, Kelly gave a firm “no.”

“I respect her. I accept her. But we’re different. And that’s OK,” Kelly said. “If you’re not gonna accept me for who I am and constantly be trying to change me and say horrible things about me and truly seem to thrive when I’m not doing well, I don’t want you in my life.”
