Keanu Reeves is Circling a Live-Action Hybrid Lego Movie! - Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Keanu Reeves is eying a Lego project!
The 61-year-old actor is in negotiations to collaborate with Josh Cooley once again after they successfully added the Duke Ka-Boom character to Pixar’s Toy Story franchise, according to Deadline.
Now, The Matrix alum is circling a live-action hybrid Lego feature with Cooley directing. Universal has not confirmed anything yet.
Jill Wilfert and Ryan Christians will reportedly produce the film through The Lego Group. Plot details remain under wraps, but sources say “it will be a mix of live-action and animation.”
Universal acquired the rights to the Lego films in 2020. Since then, they have remained unsuccessful in getting something greenlit for the big screen despite developing numerous scripts already.
Deadline reports they’re trying to take a “swing with an A-list star” in Keanu, with development specifically focusing around his character and Cooley brought in to assist the process. Keanu and Cooley launched Duke Ka-Boom in Toy Story 4, a film that would gross over $1 billion and won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. He reprised his role for Toy Story 5.
The Lego Movie released in 2014 was a huge success and launched a sequel and spinoffs like The Lego Batman Movie. A new film hasn’t been released in the franchise since 2017’s The Lego Ninjago Movie.
Earlier this year, Keanu opened up about his relationship with partner Alexandra Grant.
