Julianne Moore is paying tribute to Gloria Steinem.

When Did Julianne Moore Play Gloria Steinem?

If you didn’t know, the 65-year-old actress played the late feminist icon in the 2020 movie The Glorias alongside Alicia Vikander, Lulu Wilson and Ryan Kiera Armstrong, all playing Gloria at different times in her life.

Gloria passed away at her home on Wednesday (September 2) at the age of 92.

“We were so lucky,” Julianne began in her tribute, featuring a photo of the actresses with Gloria and The Glorias director Julie Taymor on the movie’s set.

“The time I spent studying Gloria Steinem in order to play her was one of the most edifying of my life. Everything I watched, everything I read, everything I observed about her gave me a template for how I wanted to behave.”

“Her honesty, her tolerance, her patience, and her insistence on humanism and inclusion as she moved through the world offers us all a moral roadmap. Thank you for all you gave us, Gloria,” she concluded with a heartbreak emoji.

If you are not aware, the activist played a major role in the feminist movement by advocating for women’s equality, reproductive rights, and greater political participation.
