Hayden Panettiere’s Rep Comments on ‘Ongoing’ Investigation After Cause of Death Revealed

Hayden Panettiere‘s rep is making a new public statement after the actress’ cause of death was revealed.

The beloved Nashville actress passed away on August 16 at the age of 36. She died at a residence in South Carolina and her on-again/off-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson was reportedly with her when she was pronounced dead.

How did Hayden Panettiere die?

“The cause of death has been ruled as toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, Alprazolam, Methocarbamol, and Quetiapine. The manner of death has been ruled accident,” the coroner’s report stated.

The report also stated, “On August 16, 2026, at approximately 1:51 PM, a 911 call was received regarding a reported cardiac arrest at 701 Easley Bridge Road in Greenville. First responders and Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene and located a female in cardiac arrest. EMS personnel initiated advanced cardiac life support measures; however, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and the individual was pronounced deceased at 2:32 PM.”

“An autopsy was completed by a Board Certified Forensic Pathologist. At autopsy no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death,” it noted.

The Greenville Police Department told WYFF News 4, “The Greenville Police Department is aware that the Greenville County Coroner’s Office has completed its investigation into the death of Hayden Panettiere. The Coroner’s Office report represents one component of the ongoing investigation. The Greenville Police Department’s investigation remains active and has not been closed. Our detectives will continue to follow leads and gather information as we work toward resolving this case. No further information is available for release at this time.”

Hayden Panettiere’s rep speaks out

Amid the ongoing investigation, Hayden‘s rep is speaking out.

“The investigation remains ongoing and the circumstances surrounding the case are complex,” her rep, Kasey Kitchen, told CNN. “We must all continue to remain patient and allow the investigative process to unfold.”

Hayden‘s celebration of life was held this past weekend with many celebs in attendance.
