Lewis Hamilton had the best arrival while pulling up at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza for media day ahead of the 2026 Formula 1 Pirelli Italian Grand Prix weekend on Thursday (September 3) in Monza, Italy.

The 41-year-old seven-time drivers’ champion arrived in his newly acquired Ferrari F40 car, which he learned is quite special.

“The F40, for me, it’s just the coolest looking, the lines, the curves of the car,” Lewis recently told F1 correspondent Lawrence Barretto. “It’s got the most amazing, most elegant, badass back end of a car you’ve ever seen. [I wanted to] find a unique one – and when I say unique, it had to be well taken care of, low mileage, an authentic story.”

“I managed to find one that this guy picked up in 1991 and drove it 69km through his house and never started ever again. The passenger door had never been opened and it was just covered in dust. It’s basically brand new,” he added.

After his purchase, Lewis found out that this particular F40’s registry card actually lists that it has the 44th engine built for that model. If you don’t know, 44 is Lewis‘ driver number!

Lewis‘ team, Scuderia Ferrari HP is bringing a new engine this weekend, with him and his teammate, Charles Leclerc, hoping to bring home a couple of trophies at Ferrari’s home race.

Another standout at the Italian GP paddock was none other than another seven-time champion, Lightning McQueen!

The famous car from Disney and Pixar’s hit movie Cars is making a special appearance in Monza this weekend to celebrate the movie’s 20th anniversary. In addition, the Mercedes-AMG Safety Car is celebrating the anniversary with a special livery for this weekend’s race.

If you didn’t know, Disney and F1 have a special partnership, bringing the Mouse House and the racing sport together!

Several other F1 drivers were spotted arriving for media day on Thursday, including Charles Leclerc, Liam Lawson, who is a big Cars fan, current championship leader Kimi Antonelli, reigning drivers’ champion Lando Norris, and more.

Carlos Sainz was seen arriving and taking a video of Lightning McQueen. The day before, he hit the red carpet on opening night of the 2026 Venice Film Festival with his girlfriend, Rebecca Donaldson.
