Ellen Burstyn received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2026 Venice Film Festival over the weekend!

The legendary actress, 93, stepped out for the Golden Lion award ceremony on Monday (September 7) in Venice, Italy.

Festival jury member Maggie Gyllenhaal presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Ellen during the ceremony.

While presenting the award, Maggie revealed some news on behalf of Ellen.

Ellen asked me to let you know that she recently took a fall,” Maggie said (via Variety). “She’s OK, but she is moving more slowly — which is fine because it’ll give us more time to clap.”

Ellen was seen using a walker to move around, but she still showed up to celebrate her career!

Ellen said during her speech, “You can’t imagine how meaningful this is to me. It’s one thing to win an Oscar, a Tony or an Emmy — all of which I’ve won. But this … it’s a lot.”

“At 93, it means you have a far about of lifetime to look back on,” she added. “I thought, maybe it’s not just a record of what you’ve accomplished, but what you’ve learned.”
