Ed Sheeran's Boston Concerts Canceled Due to Severe Weather Warnings | Just Jared

Even without Macklemore off the tour, Ed Sheeran‘s concerts in the Boston area have been canceled.

The 35-year-old “Shape of You” singer was scheduled to perform two shows of his Loop Tour at Gillette Stadium – home Robert Kraft‘s New England Patriots – on Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26 in Massachusetts, but they have since been canceled due to the severe weather warning.

A massive nor’easter storm is forecast for the New England area this weekend and Ed‘s concerts have been canceled for the safety of fans and stadium workers.

“Stadium and tour management, along with public safety officials, have been closely monitoring the weather forecast over the past week,” a rep for Kraft, 85 told TMZ. “Due to the severe weather forecast throughout the weekend, the tour has made the difficult decision to cancel the Ed Sheeran concerts at Gillette Stadium.”

The rep added, “The decision was made with the safety of fans, staff and everyone involved in the shows as the top priority. Refunds are available now at the point of purchase. Ticketholders who purchased through Ticketmaster will be automatically refunded.”

Before the announcement was officially made, stage construction for Ed‘s shows at Gillette Stadium was halted on Thursday, September 24, due to the looming weather.

News of the canceled shows at Gillette Stadium comes after Kraft banned Macklemore from performing at his stadium after he made pro-Palestine comments while opening the Loop Tour shows in New Jersey earlier this month. Macklemore was then removed from the tour.

Ed teared up at his Philly show last weekend and revealed that friends and family members have “abandoned” him amid the controversy.
