Katya Zamolodchikova, whose real name is Brian McCook, has just pulled out of all upcoming appearances.

The 44-year-old RuPaul’s Drag Race star’s team shared a statement on Instagram, explaining the sudden news.

Katya will be taking time away from upcoming projects and live events so she can prioritize her health following recent medical complications. A full recovery is anticipated,” the statement reads.

“With the support of her family, her team, and Trixie, she appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding during this time. Her fans have always been so gracious, and that means everything to her,” they continued. “For upcoming live events, ticket holders will receive additional details regarding their options shortly.”

The news of Katya taking a break comes just one day before she and Trixie were set to kick off their “Very Bald and Very Beautiful Tour” in Oakland on Thursday (September 17). They were set to tour the US with nearly 20 live shows through March 2027.

The duo was also set to host a Halloween dance party in Boston on October 31st.

Back in May, Katya sparked concern after posting a photo in the hospital, and a week later, revealed she had emergency abdominal surgery, calling it “hell on earth.”

We are sending well wishes to Katya during this time.
