'Dancing With the Stars' Voting Goes Down During First Live Show of 2026 | Just Jared

There are multiple ways to vote on Dancing With the Stars this season, but one of those methods went down during the season premiere.
Co-host Julianne Hough announced during the live show on Tuesday (September 15) that online voting was temporarily unavailable. Fans were reporting that they reached an “Error 503 Too Many Variants” page while trying to place their votes on ABC’s website.
Alfonso Ribieiro announced at around 8:45pm ET that they were eliminating online voting for the night.
Thankfully, there’s still another way to vote while online voting is down. You can vote by text!
How to vote for Dancing With the Stars by SMS text
To vote via SMS, text an SMS keyword (see below) to 21523. You should receive a one-time message following the first vote for a couple in each voting window and another one-time message if you’ve exceeded the 10-vote limit for that couple.
Each successful SMS text will constitute one vote, within voting limits. Message and data rates may apply. SMS vote terms at https://bit.ly/DWTSterms. Limit 10 votes per couple per voting method.
Please note SMS voting is only available to viewers located in the U.S. and its territories with a participating wireless carrier and is not available to viewers in Canada.

How to vote for Dancing With the Stars by online voting
Once the online voting returns, here are the instructions!
To vote online:
- Create or log into your account at
- If you don’t already have an account, you can create an account on the main voting page
- Once you log into your account, you will be sent a confirmation email with a verification code
- If you do not receive the email, please check your Junk or Spam folders
- Enter the verification code on the voting page to verify your email address*
- Follow the on-screen instructions to cast your vote(s) during the voting window
Additional members of your household may also cast votes by logging into their own account.
*Email verification is a required one-time process. Once your account is validated, you’ll be set to vote for the entire season
