Chris Olsen is getting candid about his mental health.

The 28-year-old TikTok star revealed the news of his breakup last month while also accusing ex Harrison Dockerty of cheating on him.

This led to Harrison releasing his own statement about their relationship coming to an end. Chris then detailed more about the alleged cheating in a follow-up video.

In a new video shared on Wednesday (August 12), Chris spoke out about how he’s doing ever since the news broke.

Chris Olsen Says He’s Been Pretending He’s Okay

“This is like the third time I recorded this because I don’t know how to say it, but I’ve been trying to pretend like I’m okay over the past few weeks since everything happened, and I’m really not,” he began.

“I know I’ve told you that I’ve been cheated on before. I say it in the book. There’s cheating that I talk about in this book,” he continued, referring to upcoming memoir I Think My Therapist Hates Me, out on September 1.

“I really thought that, especially with what happens at the end here, that that would be the last time I go through something like that.”

Chris also responded preemptively to potential hate comments in his explanation.

“I’m already hearing the responses of comments that are like, ‘oh, he’s just trying to pretend like he’s going through a hard time so he can sell his book.’ I would think of another publicity stunt to sell this book if I could. I would not have just gotten cheated on again,” he said.

Chris went on to say he felt like he was coming out of “a manic episode.”

“Everything over the past year, I can no longer believe was reality in a way. There’s no part of it to trust. And yet, it wasn’t necessarily me living in a different reality. I was living in the reality that was being presented to me, and yet it wasn’t real. And now I just don’t feel like I know really how to trust anything,” he explained.

Chris Olsen Opens Up About Feeling “Very Low” After Breakup

“I know I’ve been through so many hard periods of my life before that being in this position of feeling very low, feeling very numb and apathetic in a way will pass, because it always does. And again, if I am to reference this book, I knew by the end of it that it’s not like there was never gonna be a hard time in my life that I went through, now that I finished writing about all the hard things I had gone through. I just think with the specific struggle I’m going through now that I have been through before, I thought I was being taught the lesson of what it’s like getting cheated on and how you move on, and how you don’t let that happen again. I thought I was taught all that. The fact that it’s happened again, worse in a way, has me very self-doubtful and confused,” he admitted.

Chris Olsen Reflects on Being Cheated on Again

“I frequently shift the blame back onto myself because I’m like, ‘how didn’t you catch that?’ I think I feel a bit imposter-y because I’m about to also go on a book tour, and I’m doing a lot of press about this book that talks about getting through these things,” he said.

“You can get through hard things, and there will be something on the other side. Life will continue throwing you for loops. And you will survive it. And I know I will survive this current one I’m going through. Things always do get better. I have never been through something that I haven’t survived so far. This feels like it’s tough, but it always feels the worst when you’re in the middle of it. And I just feel like I have been stuck. And I haven’t known what to post or say to you about any of this because I’ve been trying to put on a face as if everything is completely fine. And it’s not completely fine right now, but it will be,” he continued.

“We’re gonna get through this. We’re gonna get through this. We all have gotten through our things, okay? I love you,” he concluded. Watch above.

In a previous video, Chris revealed the dates of the beginning and end of his relationship with Harrison. He also said that he’s “not trying to publicly shame anyone” and that he wants to show fans that “someone else’s mistakes do not define who you are.”
