The cause of death for Chad Lowe‘s teenage daughter has been confirmed.

If you didn’t see the tragic news, the 58-year-old Pretty Little Liars actor and his wife Kim Painter announced earlier this week that their daughter Fiona Hepler Lowe had passed away at the age of 13.

“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the family shared in a statement, via People, remembering her as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance.”

“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,” the statement continued. “In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time. Fiona’s cause of death confirmed

According to a statement from the medical examiner shared with People on Thursday (October 1), Fiona‘s cause of death was ruled a suicide.

Fiona was pronounced dead at 1:14 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29 at a local hospital.

Fiona is the middle child of Chad and Kim, who are also parents to daughters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.

Much like his older brother Rob Lowe, Chad is also an actor, and most recently appeared in a recurring role as Rob‘s onscreen brother in 9-1-1: Lone Star.
