Carín León is speaking out to explain what happened on Thursday, leading to the last-second cancellation of his concert at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

The 37-year-old Latin artist, who sings regional Mexican music, was scheduled to perform a show at the Sphere on Thursday night (September 10), but the concert was canceled after fans were already sitting in their seats.

A voice on the sound system told fans inside the Sphere that there was “an unexpected issue during transportation” and the show had to be canceled for the “safety of the artist.”

Carin Leon apologizes in a statement

Now, Carin is speaking out to explain what happened.

“Due to an unexpected mishap during my move, and always putting everyone’s safety first, we unfortunately have to reschedule tonight’s show at Sphere,” he wrote in his Instagram Stories, which has been translated to English.

Carin added, “I know all the effort, excitement, and desire that many brought to be here tonight, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your patience, for understanding and for all the affection you always make me reach. See you the soonest my people.”

Carin Leon reveals what actually happened

Carin revealed in a video that he was unable to fly to Las Vegas on Thursday because of “aircraft malfunctions.”

He said that one plane had a brake failure and the other plane had a steering issue, which prevented him from taking off and getting to Vegas.

“We had to prioritize the safety of the people and the pilots, so we weren’t allowed to fly. The authorities wouldn’t let us,” he said (via Billboard). “I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart and want to reaffirm our love for you. This isn’t a lack of commitment on our part. Things simply didn’t go as we had hoped, and I stand here feeling deeply embarrassed.”

It’s unclear why fans were allowed inside the venue or why the show wasn’t canceled earlier if Carin Leon wasn’t even in Las Vegas.

Rescheduled show

Concertgoers are able to use their tickets to attend a postponed performance on September 15, 2027, more than a year away. Of course, thousands of fans likely flew to Las Vegas and spent tons of hard-earned money on flights, hotels, meals, and other things during their trips. These are often once-in-a-lifetime trips for fans, who might not be able to make a return trip next year. Many are rightfully upset over the situation.

Carin‘s 2027 Sphere dates were just announced hours ago, with three shows originally set for September 2027. He was originally supposed to perform September 16, 17, and 18, but now he will also do a show on the 15th.

A popular movie is heading to the Sphere next year as the venue’s next movie experience.
