Brian Hickerson Detained After Alleged Bar Altercation, References Hayden Panettiere's Passing While Handcuffed | Just Jared

Brian Hickerson was detained by police following an alleged altercation at a South Carolina bar, nearly one month after the death of his on-again, off-again girlfriend Hayden Panettiere.

The 37-year-old was among several people detained after police responded to a reported assault at Wild Wing Cafe in Greenville, South Carolina on Saturday night (September 12).

Brian‘s brother Zach Hickerson, who was also present when Hayden died last month, was arrested following the incident.

What Happened With Brian Hickerson at the Bar?

Officers responded to Wild Wing Cafe at approximately 9:10 p.m. local time after receiving a report of an assault inside the restaurant, according to the Greenville Police Department.

Police said they arrived to find several people involved in an altercation and detained multiple individuals while investigating what happened. Brian and Zach were among those detained.

Brian was ultimately released without charges.

Police said Zach was “highly intoxicated” and began yelling profanities in public. He was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge and taken to the Greenville County Detention Center.

Video from the scene shows Brian sitting on the ground in handcuffs outside of the establishment.

In another video obtained by TMZ from inside the bar, Brian can be seen throwing a chair backward amid the commotion.

Brian Hickerson Referenced Hayden Panettiere While Being Detained

While he was handcuffed, Brian also made a claim involving the Greenville Police Department and Hayden‘s recent death.

“GPD leaked it when my girlfriend died,” he shouted in video from the scene.

It is not clear what information Brian was referring to.

Hayden passed away at the age of 36 on August 16 in Greenville. Brian and Zach were both at the apartment complex where she was found unresponsive.

Her death remains under investigation. Police previously said that their preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances.

Brian Hickerson Was Previously Reportedly Banned From Several Bars

The new incident comes weeks after it was reported that Brian had been banned from multiple establishments in Greenville.

Sources previously claimed that the bans stemmed from concerns about excessive drinking and alleged behavior while intoxicated.

Brian and Hayden had an on-and-off relationship dating back to 2018. He was previously arrested in connection with domestic violence allegations involving the late actress and pleaded no contest to two felony counts in 2021.
